Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Cooking spray or brush with oil
  • Ramekin, or small baking dish
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings:

  • Paprika
  • Chives
  • Shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and let it preheat for a couple of minutes.
  • Prepare the Dish: Lightly grease a small oven-safe dish or ramekin with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
  • Crack the Eggs: Carefully crack each egg into the prepared dish. If you want to be extra careful, crack the egg into a bowl first and then slide it into the dish.
  • Cook the Eggs: Place the dish into the air fryer and cook at 300°F (150°C) for 5-7 minutes. Check at the 5-minute mark for doneness. Cook longer if you prefer a firmer yolk.
  • Season & Serve: Remove the dish carefully, season with salt, pepper, and any optional toppings, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • To keep the yolk intact, crack the egg into a bowl first and then gently slide it into the dish.
  • For a fully cooked yolk, extend cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
  • Avoid cooking eggs directly in the air fryer basket as they may drip through the grates.
  • Experiment with different seasonings or add shredded cheese for extra flavor.
